The blades are made from surgical-quality T420 high-carbon stainless steel and are hollow ground and hand-sharpened for a sharp edge that retains its sharpness.
Handles are solid aluminum with a satin finish.
These were our wedding gift, but we never opened them because they were special. I shared them with my son when he purchased his own house, and he never used them but did wash them in the dishwasher prior to use. I cleaned up the aluminum handles and am sharing to someone who knows that aluminum needs to be hand washed to maintain the original beauty.
